Renewal Procedures and Requirements

When to Initiate Renewal

You have the option to apply for the renewal of a Dependant’s Pass up to 6 months (180 days) before its expiration. It is crucial to submit your application before the pass’s expiry date.

For dependants of Employment Pass (sponsorship) and Entrepass holders, the renewal process can commence when you receive the renewal forms by mail, which is typically 3 months before the pass’s expiration. Ensure that your application reaches the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) at least 2 months before the pass’s expiry date.

Authorized Renewal Entities

Renewal applications can be submitted by the employer or an appointed employment agent (EA).

How to Initiate Renewal

To initiate the renewal process, log in to EP Online.

For dependants of Employment Pass (sponsorship) and EntrePass holders, complete the requisite form and dispatch it to MOM. Be sure to include all the supporting documents stipulated in the form.

Duration of Renewed Pass

The duration of the renewed pass is directly linked to the validity of the main pass holder’s pass or up to the duration requested, whichever is shorter.

Processing Timelines

Renewal via EP Online typically takes up to 3 weeks for most cases.

For renewals by post, applicable to dependants of EP (sponsorship) and Entrepass holders, the processing time is within 8 weeks for most cases.

Important Considerations

It is essential to note the following:
– Renewals are not guaranteed, as applications will be assessed based on the prevailing eligibility criteria.
– Applying for renewal well in advance is advisable. Doing so does not result in the forfeiture of the remaining days on your current pass. The renewed pass’s duration will commence upon the expiration of the current pass.
– Renewal applications for dependants of Employment Pass (sponsorship) and EntrePass holders must be completed using the designated renewal forms.
– Missing the renewal deadline necessitates applying for a new pass.
