Work Holiday Pass (under Work Holiday Programme)
A Work Holiday Pass for eligible university students and graduates aged 18 to 25, for a stay of up to six months.
Eligibility
The university must be government-recognised in Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or the United States. This is an education requirement, rather than a list of permitted nationalities.
Undergraduates must have been resident and studying full-time at the university for at least three months before applying. Graduates must have been resident and full-time students there. The programme accommodates up to 2,000 pass holders at a time.
What the pass allows
The pass allows work and a holiday in Singapore for up to six months. Regulated professions still require the relevant registration. It is not renewable and does not provide family passes. No foreign-worker levy applies.
Planning your application
The candidate applies for the pass. Prepare evidence of age, university recognition and enrolment or graduation, including the relevant residency and full-time study history. Follow the approval letter’s instructions for arrival and issuance.
Australian and New Zealand citizens aged up to 30 should also compare the separate 12-month programmes.
