The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has announced that it will cease the issuance of physical Long-Term Pass (LTP) cards and replace them with a digital version. This change will apply to LTPs and Student’s Passes issued by ICA and Dependant’s Passes granted by the Ministry of Social and Family Development.
Physical LTP cards that have been previously issued will remain valid until their expiration or cancellation. From February 27, LTP holders can access their digital passes through the MyICA mobile application, the MyICA e-service on the ICA website, or FileSG, a digital document management platform for the public to access and download government-issued documents.
The ICA has communicated this change to public agencies, schools, and foreign missions and has advised that the digitalization of the process will eliminate the need for in-person visits to the ICA building. The digital LTPs can be authenticated by scanning a QR code or uploading the digital LTP in a specific file format on the FileSG portal. Access to digital LTPs can be obtained by logging into the MyICA mobile app, the ICA website, or FileSG using Singpass or by providing a Foreign Identification Number (FIN), date of birth, and unique transaction ID along with a one-time password sent to the mobile number.
