MOM Long-Term Visit Pass: Family Eligibility and Work Rights

MOM’s Long-Term Visit Pass helps eligible work pass holders bring specified family members to Singapore. It is a different route from an ICA-issued LTVP.

Eligible family relationships and salary

An eligible EP or S Pass holder generally needs at least S$6,000 fixed monthly salary and sponsorship by an established Singapore-registered company. The test uses the main holder’s salary, not combined household income.

The route covers a common-law spouse, unmarried stepchildren below 21 and unmarried children with disabilities aged 21 or above. Sponsoring parents requires at least S$12,000 fixed monthly salary. Overseas ICT cases can have different family restrictions; ONE Pass and EntrePass family applications use their own requirements.

Who applies and how long it lasts

The employer or appointed employment agency applies on the family member’s behalf. Validity is tied to the main work pass or the requested duration, whichever is shorter. The pass can be renewed if the relevant requirements continue to be met.

Can an MOM LTVP holder work?

An MOM-issued LTVP does not by itself authorise employment. The prospective employer must obtain an appropriate EP, S Pass or Work Permit, and the holder must meet that pass’s criteria. Do not assume the Letter of Consent arrangements for eligible ICA-issued LTVP holders apply to an MOM-issued LTVP.

Prepare the family file

Identify the exact relationship category before collecting evidence. Review the official document checklist for that category and keep names, dates and translations consistent. Plan the family member’s arrival and the main holder’s renewal timetable together. Retain the approval and issuance instructions, rather than relying on a general estimated validity.
